Tonight, on my way home from work, after stopping for more than the usual number of after-work errands, I was finally headed for home, when, suddenly, across the next intersection.... I see another squareback just like mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so shocked that I drove 100 yards past it, then pulled over and got out, telling my wife to go ahead and drive herself home in spite of the light rain. I ran back to the stopped square and realized that it was a beautiful dark tan '66 or '67. The woman got out and explained that it had stalled coming across the intersection and she had not been able to get it restarted. We talked briefly and then I got in and actually managed to get it started. She let me drive myself home and I gave her my name and phone #. Then she drove off. I hope she calls back because I'd really like to help her get it back into good running shape again. The '67 squareback was in beautiful shape, inside and out, and she had bought it from her brother who collected VWs after pestering him for many years. She had actually wanted this very one all along, and I have to admit that it's a real beauty. I sure hope she keeps my number and brings the car back. ;-) - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
