Thanks for all the help so far. <snip> Setting it to 30 deg BTDC at idle will give way you too much advance at speed. While this may seem good, this much advance will be very hard on your engine. While extreme amounts of advance often seem to perform well, This is SO much that I'm surprised that this runs as well as you say. Sometimes I automatically insert the proper punctuation when maybe I should not. Reading his original post, it seems as tho he understands the difference between advance and idle timing.
