I have no odd noises at all upon start-up. Only under load going up a particularly steep section of hill I travel regularly. Not all the time or under other load conditions. No green oil light flickers either, BTW. If the main bearings were loose, I think I'd hear the *tok* under more conditions and maybe see the green light, no? > are you sure your case nuts are tight? by now you will have pounded things > out anyway... There's no way to check this with the engine installed is there?? I had no involvement in the engine rebuild, so I know I assumed some risk when I bought the car. But the rebuilder did provide detailed notes of why the old engine died what corrective mods he made. He noted that the old oil cooler seals were wrong (leaking and oil starvation), a lot of the tin was wrong or missing, and he put the FI back together right (well, mostly). Seemed like he paid good attention to detail, which gave me confidence to buy the car with its recent rebuild. Time will tell, I guess. -Mark Fuhriman ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
