I can't remember what it was at, but it was already set right, within the
specs. I did change one of the shims though, because it was actually bigger
than the others (in diameter) and I thought that could have let more oil
through. This might be something to check, that you have the right diameter
shims for your crank. I put the RTV on the dowels because I thought the oil
might be leaking around there as well. Also, I slopped heaps of oil around
the seal that last time so it hopefully wouldn't get mangled. I also
squirted some oil on the shims and around the flywheel edge. The other thing
is, when I put it in the last time, I put the seal in 2mm from the case
edge, when I put it all the way in it was too far and it leaked, and when I
had it flush it was not enough, and that mangled the seal as well. The other
thing I did was to crank it over for a minute or two with the coil unplugged
and until the oil light went out a couple of times to get the oil round
everywhere, before I actually started it up.

It might be worth seeing if you can find someone with an engine stand, so
you can start it up without having to put it back in your car, and you will
be able to see if or when it starts to leak.

Good Luck,
Ben Doughney
