[T3] Mechanics in So Cal.

Hey everyone,
    Does anyone know of a good mechanic that is familiar with type 3 engines 
who could rebuild my engine at a good price?  I dont have a mechanic, and I 
was going to take my engine to my friends mechanic, who had rebuild engines 
for his beetle.  "Its the same thing" they both said, and while yeah, the 
engines are very similar, im not sure how much experience this guy has with 
T3s.  Anyone have any recommended places?  Thanks a bunch.
