Shortly after starting the car I noticed this > wire was shorted hence the insulation was melting. > Where does this wire go to? I hae disconected it for now and the engine runs > fine. > Can anyone help me? > That other wire goes to the auxilary air regulator on the engine. It comes out of the wire harness with the blue wire that goes to the oil pressure switch. I have seen this wire pinched in the throttle linkage on the engine. The engine will run with that wire disconnected, but it will not idle down after the engine is warmed up.
