There are many problems with A/C on a Type 3: You break the integrity of the cooling system. You add heat load to the engine on days when the engine is already running hot. It makes the engine harder to work on. It makes it almost impossible to get to anything under the dash. You have to cut big holes in the front fenders to install the condensors.
