I got the Notch out, and now that I have 10W30 in it im getting concerned with the oil pressure. This is a new 1679 Berg motor that Ive built with the sump and full flow on it and on the highway the oil pressure is around 40 or 41 even when hot.. just where it should be with a new motor but when the car comes down to an Idle it drops to around 5 or 6 psi... I dont think the pump can keep up with the extra filter and lines when the car is idling. I realize that currently the oil pressure at idle is OK and wont hurt anything but thinking ahead, when the engine has 100Kmi or more on it and the bearing clearances are larger that idle pressure will be inadequate. My stock 1600 Square doesnt have full flow and it has about 8 or so psi at idle with 73K on the motor, when it was new it idled at 14 PSI hot!! So.. my question, to those with alot (60K or more) of miles on their full flow engines how is the hot idle pressure?? what size pump are you using?? are there known problems running full flow and maintaining pressure?? Im getting very worried... not that theres anything I can do about it at this point but when the motor eventually goes on the square I need to make that full flow descision again. Thanks!!
