This must be a new version of the filter kit I bought for my first fasty back in '89. That just used a m/cycle paper filter though, with rubber adaptors to make it fit the pickup pipe. The wire mesh should be less restrictive I suppose, but I can't help wondering how easy it'll be to get new mesh filter elements, as they're probably not parts you can get in your FLAPS. I never got to see how effective my filter was, as a girl came up to me in a petrol station and begged to buy the car. How could I refuse? ----- Original Message ----- From: <Chazpix@aol.com> To: <type3@vwtype3.org> Sent: Tuesday, May 01, 2001 7:12 AM Subject: Re: (T3) oil strainer setup > Dave it's a small aluminum "cup" (finned) that does fit in place of the OEM > steel plate.(holds approx.150 ml.of oil) The filter element isn't paper, but > machined aluminum w/ stainless steel mesh(ultra fine). > Chuck > '66 SB > > ------------------------------------------------------------------- > Search old messages on the Web!
