There are no special issues with these on type 3s. I would take the hubs apart and clean everything. You will have to replace the seals, but it is likely that the bearings are fine. If there is any problem at all, you might need to replace an outer bearing; the inners almost never fail. Likewise, I've seldom seen tie rod ends that were bad, although the boots are often torn which should lead to their demise.
