Either get a Bentley manual, or find a mechanic that knows Type-3 front
ends. Just saying that there is "2inches" of play doesn't cut it. He is just
trying to get out of working on it, or trying to get into your wallet to
repair it. There are many adjustments on a T-3 front end to take play out.
Mostly the end play on the upper torsion bar, and tightening the cover and
making the proper adjustments on the steering sector. Does this "mechanic?"
realize that you cant just go out and buy a front end for a 30 year old car.
