If all the flats are facing The little notch on all 4 joints is pointing straight ahead, all oriented alike. According to the shop's computer, caster spec range is 3.31 deg to 4.69 deg, with 4 deg as the target. So my measurements of 5.5(L) and 4.9(R) are slightly out of that range. But I guess it's nothing to worry about. BTW, *all* of the shops I spoke to told me that the Michelin XZX is discontinued, so I feel lucky to have found a set. One shop said the XZX is superseded by something called MX4. Thanks for the ball joint greasing lesson. You mention "heavy chassis grease". Does this mean a Mo-based grease? And yes, my 4 fittings in the beam are greased. First thing I did when I got the car several months ago. They all took a *lot* of grease! -Mark Fuhriman ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web! Visit http://www.vwtype3.org/list/
