All you need to do is buy the proper ignition system for the dist you already have. The 009 is a general purpose Bosch dist sold for air cooled VWs which no longer have a place to connect a vacuum advance/retard. Reports on it seem to be pretty negative lately, although in the right application it should be fine, but it WILL NOT WORK with the fuel injection. The OE FI 72 dist has mech advance as well as vacuum advance and vacuum retard. This is a bit harder to tune up than the other years, but it works well once tuned up. I wouldn't consider replacing it. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
