Don't just start replacing random components, as that will quickly get out of hand and expensive. Swapping known good parts is okay, but be careful about the KNOWN part. Here are some things to check for if the car is still FI: When you get in the car and turn the key ON you will hear a couple of relay clicks. Do you hear these when you have the trouble? If so, do you hear them right at the beginning of the trouble, or are they about 1 second AFTER the engine dies? Have you cleaned the FI points down in the bottom half of the distributor? If not, just clean them with a clean piece of paper; DO NOT file or sand them. Do you have a voltmeter? - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
