The JIS (Japanese) standards tend to put about 1mm smaller heads on the bolts compared to the DIN (German) standards. This saves a few hundred thousand tons of steel per year in the auto industry. I wonder if the new German cars now use the JIS standard bolts, which have 12mm heads on the 8mm bolts, instead of 13mm heads. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
