Leave the doors in place. You will need to remove the door check 
strap briefly to install the new seals around them, but you should 
have this engaged most of the time and be very careful with the 
door when it is not hooked up. It is easy to push the door too far 
forward without the strap in place and this will scratch the paint and 
crease the door.

It's usually not necessary to get all the old adhesive off. Just 
carefully use a screwdriver to scrape off all the remnants of the old 
seal and most of the old glue. If you use a solvent you have to be 
really careful that it removes the glue but NOT the paint!  8-p
