They have a casting to take the CHT but no hole or tapping. The flattened part is in the older position rather near the exhaust port, so the advice is to flatten the upper curved surface and drill and tap to match the later position of the CHT. It also helps the wiring run. I've done this on my injection Fastback with complete success. The M10x1.0 thread was tapped with a steering arm bolt with a couple of slots cut in it as it's not a common (cheap!) tap. Dave.
