I found that they made the spark voltage rise enough higher that I had flashover problems elsewhere and this eventually made the engine run rough, especially in damp weather. Most of my non-stock ignition experience is with a CDI unit which I really like. I don't think it helps performance at all, but it makes the points and plugs last forever and the timing never needs to be touched up. The Pertronix should do the same. Most of these systems attempt to promise you something that is not really going to happen, but longevity can be real and is a real benefit. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
