Regarding bumper overrider bars, I checked the microfilm and they do not appear there. This would mean that they are aftermarketaccessories which could be reproduced at any time by anyone who thought there was interest in the market. Jim, In my Australian parts book, there is a section showing all the available accessories for the type 3. In that section, they indeed show the accessory bumper assembly along with the large round tool kit, accessory beauty rings and a sunroof wind deflector. In the past, I have had these bumper kits, NOS, in the Genuine VW boxes, (see page 2 of the T3 accessories on "The Samba" web site)so I don't think these were aftermarket. These were available to the T3 customer as an add on accessory and provided by and sold through the VW Dealership. Just my 2 cents........
