There's a fine metal screen filter pressed in the back of the metal hose barb a the entrance of the injector. I suppose this could get plugged up, although I've never seen this happen that I knew of. I suppose stuff could get thru the screen and get lodged inside, too. I don't think this is likely unless the filter ahead of the pump has been eliminated. I guess if the overflow hose was broken and there was water in the tank, the steel fuel lines, as well as the injectors themselves, could rust inside and this would certainly be a problem.
