If you're in the UK, just prime the carbs with fresh fuel, charge the battery, use some very fine sandpaper on the points, clean the plugs if you want to feel really lucky or take a chance if not, turn the engine over without the coil lead on to build up oil pressure, then connect up and go for it. An oil change might be kind, but that could wait until you found if it ran. My Variant was garaged for 10 years before I bought it, and I understand it needed no significant attention apart from a silencer and minimal service to bring it back to life. In the USA, I hear, the old gas will be hard varnish in the pipes and the whole system will probably need flushing. Dave.
