Hate to say it, but yes you would have to pull the muffler to put the gasket in. I am sure they are still available, but probably only in a complete muffler gasket kit. It is a copper/asbestos ring. (or used to be). I use a special wrench to tighten those packing nuts. It is a short, flat 1 13/16" open end wrench that is designed to be beat on with a hammer.
