I don't think the missing baffle would cause it to rust out. The baffle is
to keep too much oil from getting up into the breather. The rust is more of
a sign that moisture is sitting in the breather.
I should have one off a '69 engine. It is for the closed crankcase style.
(connects back to the oil filler pipe). Let me check it tonight.
