You suggest this to get rid of the type 3 natural understeer, yet I have always thought it was naturally oversteering. I agree that a bit of oversteer is preferable, but I have always preferred ~20 in front and ~28-30 in back. This is just a little higher than VW recommended, but it gives better tire wear and gas mileage. My experience with high front pressures is that it always makes the cars skittish and gives poor control, due, I have assumed, to a lightly loaded front end combined with an overinflated tire giving a tiny tire contact patch. In fact one of the common complaints on this list from new members is of poor control and this is often traced down to cars which have been pressurized in the customary fashion with 26-30 psi all around.
