[T3] San Diego Type 3 group Next activity the place

I am resending the invintation to you guys if
you around the San Diego area. 

We are all going to bring our own food to BBQ
for ourselves and to share, kind of like a 
potluck BBQ .

I recommend getting there early, slightly before
10:00 am because the lot gets full. 

Next week on Sunday we will cruise to the 
VW Classic in Irvine, a little north of us.


Our next BBQ/meet will be held at Mission 
Bay Park at a little picnic area called
Playa Pacifica. This will happen 2nd of 
June 2001 at 10:00. 

Directions: 
Drive down I-5 to Sea World Drive go west towards
the ocean , stay on your right side. The first 
road you will run into is East Mission Bay Drive. 
Take a right on this road and drive down .
You will pass the Hilton Hotel and see a sign 
that says Playa Pacifica. The first road to this 
is an exit (on your left) the next one is the
entrance. Turn there, follow the road to the 
Children's monkey jim. This place is beautiful !

I chose this place because It has a sandy beach,
restroom (real ones) Picnic tables, children's
monkey bars, bbq grill , grass and trees . The
cars can be set up in rows . It gets full at 11:00
so if you get there late , you will not park ,
so get there at 10:00 am exactly ! You come late 
it will be as if you did not come since this place
gets full. The guy who scouted this, saw good parking 
at 10:00 am and it got full in an hour.

 Some people wanted the 'real' beach next to open 
ocean and lots of people but I asked everyone if they 
wanted this, they must get there at 9:00 or even 8:00 am
to get a good spot amongst the crowed to drool at our cars.
I got no answer. Very little inputs. So this was the 
best place and it is beautiful, very beautiful backdrop!
Yes , and there will be lots of people to drool at the cars.

HERE IS MORE DETAILED DIRECTIONS AS SOME PEOPLE
AS SOME PEOPLE REQUESTED.


this area is located near the Sea World are
also not far from Fiesta Island. 

>From  
The highway:

- If you are comming from the north of here, drive south 
  on Highway 5 South. If you are comming from South of
  here, drive north on Highway 5 North.

To
Sea World Drive:

- When you are getting close to the Sea World area
  there will be an off ramp to Sea World Drive.
  Get off on Sea World Drive. If you are comming from 
  the South you make a left turn on this road, if
  you are comming from the north you would make a 
  right turn on this road. The direction is away from
  the mountains and towards the Ocean , that's West.
  Go down this road for 1/4 mile and stay on your 
  right side all the way. At this point, 1/4 mile, 
  there a road called East Mission Bay Drive that 
  crosses the road. Make a right turn right here.

Then to
East Mission Bay Drive:

- Go down Mission Bay Drive . This area is full
  of parks. About 1/2 mile you will see a fancy
  Hilton Hotel, it is the only hotel around the area.
  Immediately after you pass the hotel, there will
  be a LARGE sign on the side of the road that says
  Playa Pacifica, this is the park where we are 
  getting together. 

Enter
Playa Pacifica:

- Enter Playa Pacifica at the first enterance after
  the park sign "Playa Pacifica" .
  The park is very small and has one road and several 
  parking areas along the way, you can see the entire
  park at the enterance. Go to the parking spaces in 
  front of the picnic/ BBQ area next and closest to 
  the childrens play area. 

This area is full of parks and quiet sandy beaches that
over look Fiesta Island. There will be alot of people
so come the earliest you can and relax.
