Jim A is right on the mark. When I replaced mine I did some shopping around and most sales people were shocked at the cost. The lowest price was $69 (bosh) to $150 (same bosh). We had to use the part number on the unit's arm. Bosch claimed that the 73 brain made the retard unnecessary, so I would swap in a 73 brain and treat the engine like a 73. The 73 brain is also an "E" brain, but the bosch number ends in 048 instead of 028. - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
