I can look at that again tonight. I rechecked both of my copies of the parts lists ('73 paper, and '80 microfilm and they all agree down the line. Each shows the M240 only in a number of places. I do see that there was an M250 which was a higher output engine (54 bhp instead of 45 bhp) which looks like the 1500S to me, but I can't be sure. I also see that the AT was M248 up thru 69 and was then M249 from 70-on. I found the reference to the N and R which I had never noticed before. I finally bought a paper copy of the parts list off eBay a few months ago. I'll have to admit that it's not very satisfying. It's been lying in the damp somewhere for years and everything's so full of mildew that I'm almost afraid to touch it. Does anyone here have an older paper parts list that might have gotten this right. It looks like someone at VW forgot something at some point and from there on the correct info was lost. It also looks like the M-code list in the old paper list has a lot of entries that the microfilm doesn't, so I'll have to go back and go thru them and add in whatever is missing to my computerized list. - ******************************* Jim Adney, jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, Wisconsin, USA ******************************* ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
