Check for holes in the body in the inner fenders, and are the water drains
by the rear bumper brackets in good shape. If you have any holes in this
area, the cooling system sucks exhaust leaks back into the cooling system,
and hence into the car through the heaters. Also, how is your tail pipe tip.
I had exhaust fumes in the car until I replaced mine, and got the exhaust
tip out under the bumper where it belonged.

The gas fumes after sitting, check for a gas leak at the vent line at the
filler neck, and also check for gas leaks at the welded seam of the gas
tank. The seam is where mine is leaking on my '71. I need to order a sealer
kit from POR or Eastwood. ;=[ Or better yet, does anyone have a "GOOD" fuel
injection tank they want to sell????

BTW, on one of the home improvement shows, they showed that just starting a
normal car in an attached garage, will set off a CO detector, even with the
garage door open.
