Hey gang, My name is Allen and I'm new to the vintage VW scene. I just purchased a 1969 Squareback, automatic transmission, and she is in really good shape. Most of the work that needs to be done is cosmetic (30 year old paint job needs to be redone, new dash and some interior work), and I would like to get the engine and electrical system in better condition than they already are. She runs great, but has the usual problems (at least they seem usual, from reading the threads the past few days) of minor oil leaks and new found transmission fluid leak. I want to convert the old oil filter screen to a real oil filter, and other minor improvements, but am curious about pointers on the best catalogs, magazines, or websites that feature Type III Squareback parts. So far most of the main VW publications I have found cater to Type I and II's with the occasional Fastback article or parts listing. Is it that hard to find decent Squareback articles and information? Forgive me for the general newbie-ness of this post, but I'm just looking for decent information out there. I live near the Seattle, WA area, across the water on the Olympic Peninsula. So if anyone knows of good shops or clubs in the vicinity, please let me know. thanks a lot, -allen _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
