The big plus in this conversion is not that one wants to use the same alternator as the SP-2, since this was only rated at 35A, but rather that one can ibstall a "real" sized alternator from, say, a Jetta or something. A 90A rating wouldnt be bad :-) I do have one of them small Mitsu alternators (or was it a Hitachi?) from a Daihatsu that I'm installing in the same fashion as Toby.
