If you keep or switch to aftermarket mufflers with headers, you can still
have heat. You will loose some efficiency though. The header system eliminates
the small upper heat exchangers. However, you still keep the main exchangers.
With out the upper exchangers you'll need to recreate some ducting from the
fan housing to the main exchangers. It doesn't cost much, about $5. Both left
and right sides need about 1.5 ft. of 2" aluminum foil type hose. Also, 4 pc.
of large hose clamps.
If you have a header now, you're probably missing he upper exchangers.
These are hard to find, so I'd stick with another aftermarket muffler like the
QP. And get the heat hooked up again!
