There were 4 different wiper shafts used on VW's. Early ones had a 6mm shaft with the set screws. Next came and 8mm shaft with the set screws. Then in '70-'71? they came with the 13mm acorn nut style. The last syle for the T-3 was the black arms, with the nut under the plastic cap. If I remember right, the pinch bolt arms were only sold as replacements for the 6 and 8mm set screw style. They never came from the factory with them.
