Can someone please tell me all the advantages of haveing a 69mm counterweighted crank in a engine that is not going to be raced. It's going in a 1776cc Type II motor with dual 36 dcnf carbs, 041 CB performance heads, engle 110 cam, 009 distributor, 12 1/2 lb flywheel. I had a counterweighted crank in the engine but sometime in shipping it was droped on the end or something and became bent on the flywheel end. This has caused the engine to sieze up on the main 4 times. I had bought the crank years back brand new, and have no way of shipping it back for a refund or anything. The local shops that I have talked to suggest that I swap to a 69mm non counterweighted crank since the car is not going to be raced or anything. I still plan to drive hard occasionally and want a smooth running trouble free engine. ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
