Russ, please explain better. > Toby Erkson With alloy wheels, that have not been off in a long time, corrosion will build up between the wheel, and the hub, or the lug studs if that is what you have. If you leave the lug nuts slightly loose, and drive the car with the weight of the car on the corrosion, and not the nuts, they will break loose to where the wheel can be removed. This saves a lot of work, and cursing when trying to get them off. I have done this many times, and it even works trying to get a stubborn rear brake drum off the splines. With the drums, I put the axle nut back on finger tight, put the cotter pin back in, and take it out on the street. It works wonders. Let the car do some of the work for you. :=] Russ Wolfe http://www.classicvw.org/ ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
