You've probably destroyed the variable resistor that is built into the headlight switch. This is a rather expensive part, but you should be able to replace that bulb (first! ;-) and then turn the knob fully CW and get the bulbs to come on at full intensity. funny thing happened yesterday i was in the parking lot at work and i could see the reflection in the glass and i was checking lights well first off as soon as i turned the key my parking lights came on , and the switch was off! but i turnd them on and the headlights came on ok , i turned them off and the parking light were still on. so i turned the car of to just check to see if i was not crazy and they came on again , this time i turned the dimmer and i was dimming my parking lights!!! whats the deal? other than the obviosly shotty wiring, should i just get a new style harness and re wire the whole car or what? chad ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
