I would stay away from the 009, but others may have better suggestions. Consider buying this book: How to Hotrod Volkswagen Engines by Bill Fisher published by H. P. Books, Tucson, AZ, 1970 ISBN 0-912656-03-4 (excellent book, well written and researched) It has most of the answers you need, but you will have to spend some time with it. It's a really good book which I recommend to anyone who wants to get more power/reliability out of their engine. The wide variety of literature available from Gene Berg can also be very enlightning. Keep in mind that a 1700 is only a ~6% increase over a 1600. In itself this is not likely to be noticable. - Jim Adney jadney@vwtype3.org Madison, WI 53711-3054 USA ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
