But, VW did put it into the T-2 vanagon back in the early '80's. I owned one. They were underpowered in the vanagon. I bought it in California, and my son drove it back for me. It could hardly make it over the Rocky Mountains with a motorcyle in the back seat. Since VW put it in the vanagon, there should be adapters to the 12v bellhousing. It might even fit under the stock T-3 engine cover, as they laid it WAYYYY down on its side, and it used the T-2 engine mounts. I might have to check into this.
