I'm not sure if your aware of this, but the stock Solex carbs came equipped
with an oil bath air filter. This is a big flat ribbed black enclosure that
runs between both carbs, with the oil bath in between (right of center). The
oil bath had a fresh air intake right were your compressor is. You should still
be able to see the rear half of this in the car body.
