Don't know about the UV blocking sunscreens for the dash, but.... UV light certainly gets through the glass, especially on cars as old as ours. New car glass has some UV blocking built into it, but we still use additives in the plastics for the interior components that make them resistant to UV degradation. Unfortunately these additives were not available when our cars were built or were certainly not as effective. UV degradation is certainly a contributing factor, along with the heat, to the cracking of the dashpads on our T3s. Not sure what we can do about it, but it is there. The cardboard folding sunscreens are probably very effective....but please don't use them while driving!! 8^) Later, John Jaranson '71 FI Auto Fasty (Jane) http://hometown.aol.com/jaransonT3 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
