I am currently in the middle of rear disc brake/Porsche wheel conversion. I purchased rear disc brake kit from CBPerformance (rotohub for 69 and later beetle) and had no problems installing them. I was very impressed with the components. Looks like the only modification will be to the emergency brake cables. I also purchased late model Porsche Alloys (16x7) with 40mm offset and 205/50/16 tires for rear and 195/50/16 tires for front. In my tire research I was amazed at how dimensionally different sizes are depending on manufacturer. Yokohama, & Michelin tires are smaller for the same size than say Dunlop. This may be a nice little trick up ones sleeve. Anyway, have not been able to test fit tires/wheels yet but I guarantee it will be a very tight fit. Will probably have to modify a few items. BTW, my car is 69 Fasty with stock width IRS suspension. I will repost with progress. Unfortunately, I will be out of town on business for atleast the next two weeks. I am unsubscribed till then.
