I took mine to Maaco years ago in a hasty paint job prior to moving to Seattle. I did all the prep work, removing trim, masking etc. They still managed to screw it up. Painted with the hood open, left the license plate bracket in the rear hatch (all they had to do was open the hatch and it would have fallen out). When they took off the masking, they tore some of it. Not as smooth of a job as I would have liked, used their closest match color. Decent but it was supposed to be temporary. That was 23 years ago. If you go this route, do yourself a favor and do the following; space the end of window trim out from the body with a cord to allow the paint to go under the trim, mask the rubber. Specify that they are not to remove any masking. Leave it exactly the way you want it to be painted, assume they know nothing. Specify the wheel paint color or not to be painted. If you can, talk to the actual person shooting the paint, and slip them some extra cash to do a better job, ie take more time. Mask it exactly the way you want it to be done. Remove everything that can be removed. He did all the prep work himself which made ALL the difference in the price & results. Moral of the story...do the prep work yourself if you want a good results. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much?
