They are a very dependable automatic trans. Rebuild them every 150k miles or so, and they will go forever. The worst part of the conversion is that the automatics came from the factory with no clutch cable tube inside the frame. Everything else is pretty much straight forward if you have a parts car to cannibalize. You will also need the axles and CV joints from the donor car, as the automatic rear axles are 2 different lengths. You will need the flywheel from a manual transmission engine, and reset the end play in the crank. The automatic starter WILL work with a manual trans. and flywheel. To install the shift rod, you will need to pull the spare tire well, and remove the retangular plate from the front of the frame, and the round plate from below the front bumper. Where the shifter goes, the donor car should have a rectangular plate. This has the front shift rod bushing attached, I think. Other than that, you will need the pedal assembly, the clutch cable, the bowden tube over the trans, and weld in the clutch tube. Good Luck!
