>(except for the >couple of Type 103 that were submitted - why? If they're closely related to >the T1 then why include them, just because they look similar to the rest? >Hmmmm, that doesn't seem right in light of the argument of declaring >'Type's...) It's in the interest of droppin' some science and correcting the "conventional wisdom" surrounding Brazillian VWs. I think that, at least in the U.S., many VW fans at large know generally of Brazillian VWs, but probably could only describe the SP2 and, somewhat more vaguely, the "Brasilia". I think that when these folks say "Brasilia" they generally mean "a non-SP2, non-Beetle Brazillian VW sedan" and aren't really thinking of the Type 103 in particular, nor distinguising the Brasilia from the Variant or Variant II or 1600L or 4-porta, etc. Given that the "conventional wisdom" is based largely on the glossy magazines and what's seen at shows (and on the street), this is not too surprising. I think that inclusion of a Type 103 Brasilia in the Scrapbook serves to show folks "oh, o.k., *that's* a Brasilia, and all of these other cars, they're different. I get it now." Toby, I like the idea of including more descriptive text with the various examples. A picture tells a thousand words, but perhaps not necessarily the words that were intended. :) Cheers, -Greg ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
