The genuine VW stuff is > not bad, but expensive of course. > > This is the hose that is used on most modern EFI cars. Most of the newer cars run fuel pressures all the way to 60 psi. We even have some regulators on the drawing board for cars that run as high as 65psi. This hose doesn't look like the orginal VW hose. The cloth braid is vulcanized into the rubber hose itself. I think it is some type of nylon/polyester fabric. This is a 2 ply hose. Inner rubber, fabric, Outer rubber. The hose is rated for 250 psi burst, but I personally have taken it to about 450psi, doing distruct tests on filters. Yes the hose did burst before the filter went, but the stainless filter looked like a football at those pressures. I trust this hose over the orginal VW hose that came on our cars. I own a 1992 Dodge pickup with 120k miles, that has this hose and have never had a fuel leak.
