<x-charset iso-8859-1>Sounds like you're using the timing light correctly.  It gets its 12V from
the same terminal that the ignition wire is hooked on.  But the tach/dwell
meter hooks to the other terminal- the one with the green wire to the
condensor.

The only diagnostic tools are timing light, tach/dwell meter, pressure gage,
and volt-ohm meter.
