If you shorted the DF terminal to ground while the engine was 
revved up this can ruin the voltage regulator. I have a charging 
system FAQ which I will send to you that will tell how to step thru 
the charging systema and figure out what is wrong.

I'd check to see if there is something making the throttle cable 
stick. The 2 most likely places to check are at the engine, make 
sure that there are no wires that the throttle stuff can rub against 
when they move, and check at the pedal. It is common for the 
carpet to slide down a bit and catch the "cam" on the back of the 
pedal, making it stick there.

The loping idle usually means that some of the tuneup stuff is not 
set right. It usually means that the idle speed is set too high. What 
you are seeing is the correct FI system response to something 
which is misadjusted.
