<x-charset iso-8859-1>Hello all, I've done the unthinkable, I bought a Passat last night. Well... my wife bought a Passat last night, I'm just paying for it. And to think that 6 months ago I sold my Fastback so that we could buy a Squareback for her...... so now I want my fasty and it aint gonna happen. I want to get another fastback so I am gonna put my Square up for trade.. Here are the details: 1971 squareback -Original color was Marina Blue, exterior was repainted a darker blue and is now faded -was an automatic , converted to stickshift. -California car, still has 1975 inspection sticker -Dual carbs as of now, I was gonna refurb the FI -Newer motor, I don't know the mileage ,the girl I bought it from didn't keep track but I do have the receipts. -It has some rot on the sheet metal coming through at the fresh air box in the hood, I am in the process of repairing it (welding , not bondo) -The floor pans are perfect with the exception on a few very small holes under the battery no surface rust -Zero rot else where -It has the AC unit and all its gizmos, I took the compressor and brackets off and replaced the pulley housing with one that was uncut. -headliner is good but has a few small tears in it -The door rubber is in great shape, the hood and deck lid rubber need to be replaced - The interior is ok, the seats need to be recovered, the panels are decent and the carpet is ok if you don't mind the huge hole where the Auto shifter used to be . -I have new carpet , front seat upholstery and door panels, These can be included or not. -the front apron has been hit in the past , whoever "fixed" it used a slide hammer instead of a body hammer so it now has some bondo in it. -dash has the usual crack in it, I have a new dash that can be included or not. -window rubber is original and pretty good but the rear window rubber is starting to crack in the corners. -it has a scrapping dent on the passenger rocker where someone curbed it. As much as I would like to be driving a fasty I am not really in a hurry , the longer I have it the more work I will put into it. I thought I would offer it up.
