Hi all: Seller was willing to listen to reason, and came down to what I wanted on price. The car is essentially a one-owner California car with excellent documentation, etc. I do think the people were pretty straightforward about this, and trust that they just didn't think this offering through well, and didn't look at what they had thoroughly enough. The car was a "gift" to them they didn't need, so they are just passing it along. Think the early transmission rebuild (141k) reason was perhaps that it is an auto transmission with air?...would this have any effect? Although I would still have preferred the less miles rather than less price, feel OK they would listen to reason about this and it worked out....and once again looking forward to my T3 car... thanks for the help and advice... jim >>> ginpete@xprt.net 12/08/01 22:56 PM >>> $3400 is pricey for us in Portland. There are plenty of 171k cars out here, and very few 71k. I suppose if all the miles were on the freeway, the car was garaged and the owner didn't have too big an a**... I would be worried about how else the car might have been misrepresented.
