> We will be in the upper 90s to low 100s next august! I hope you mean numbers of Type 3s, Brian! If you mean temperature, that's even hotter than Castle Lissberg, which was nearly 35 deg C (95 deg F)? I've never had sweat pouring off like that before, apart from when digging trenches or similar. It's not as big a problem when driving as you can open the vent wings on the car and make things more comfortable, but it's not as much fun for the engine I suspect. Still, the Variant went well in Germany, though I was being a bit more cautious with speeds than when at home. For a total of almost exactly 1,900 miles (3,000 km), the overall mpg works out at 36.7 mp(Imp)g, or about 29.4 mp(US)g. That includes some particularly gentle miles (50 to 55mpg) when travelling in convoy with the other Brits including a '62 Notch from Wolfsburg to Lissberg. Usually at highway speeds of around 70 mph I get 34 mp(Imp)g. A great experience, and I'll get a story sorted out. I see Neil has passed on some details already - great to meet up out there. Dave.
