Mark, I think it's time to look into trying a different brain.  General consensus is that the brain is almost never the culprit, but I had trouble (different symptoms from yours) earlier this year that I traced to the brain.  Turns out that even my spare brain was bad.  Maybe somebody here has a spare they'd be willing to loan for you to try.  All my spares are for earlier FI systems, so I can't help with that.
